Travel grants and free registration

The RC52 Board and the University of Florence share the idea of the importance of promoting the participation of young researchers in international conferences, as a fundamental step to be involved and feel part of a wider scientific community.

For this reason, they decided to support a selected number of Early Career Researchers (ECRs) who will participate actively in the 2019 Interim Meeting.

Specifically, the RC52 board will provide four travel grants of 250 euro.

Being awarded a travel grant, then, will entitle the applicants to free registration at the conference.

All PhD students who will be selected to present a paper at the conference will nevertheless benefit from a discounted registration fee.

Eligibility criteria

Being a PhD student or having received the PhD since 2016.

How to apply

All those interested to apply for a grant must submit an abstract proposal following the instructions included in the call for papers, complemented by a short paragraph about how the participation in the Interim Meeting will help them further their research.

Selection procedure

A special committee will evaluate the applications. The results of the selection procedure will be notified by May 31st.

Special Session for Early Career Researchers

The selected proposals will be included in a Special Session for Early Career Researchers, chaired by Alexandra Vinson, University of Michigan (RC52 Representative of Early Career Researchers/PhD Students).

Duties of grant beneficiaries

Those who will be awarded a grant will be required to send a full paper by June 15th.

Additional notes

Please, note that the travel grants are reserved to ISA RC52 members in good standing. Moreover, they will be paid in the form of reimbursements of travel expenses.
