Research Centers

The Department of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Florence promotes scientific research through seven interuniversity or interdepartmental centers. The "Luciano Cavalli" Interuniversity Center for Political Sociology (CIUSPO) is dedicated to political sociology and the study of the relationships between society and politics; the Interdepartmental Center for Strategic, International and Business Studies (CSSII) deals with international politics, strategic studies, and cybersecurity; the "Jean Monnet Center of Excellence" Interdepartmental Research Center (CEJM) promotes the development of European studies from an interdisciplinary perspective; the Interuniversity Center for Social Science Methodology (CIMESS) focuses its activities on social science methodology; the Italian Center for Electoral Studies (CISE) analyzes public opinion dynamics and electoral behavior; the "Giovanni Sartori" Center for Comparative Politics studies the political transformations of contemporary regimes; finally, Conflict Resolution, International Security and Peace (CRISP) is dedicated to the scientific study of armed conflicts and peacebuilding processes.
