Obiettivi Formativi
Knowledge of and ability to apply the fundamental quantitative tools for the analysis of financial markets.
Ability to compute securities' prices, both with discrete time models, and with continuous time models; the hedging strategies; the term structure of
interest rates.
Prerequisiti
Good knowledge of calculus and integration methods required. Students lacking these prerequisites should not choose this course. A working knowledge of basic probability in order to be able to solve simple exercises is useful. For UNIFI students it is suggested to have the Workshop in Probability for Economics and Finance (BA in Economics) in their study plan.
Metodi Didattici
Classes, homework exercises, midterm test
Altre Informazioni
Attendance (in presence) is required. Mandatory partecipation in all the activities (classes, homeworks, midterm)
Modalità di verifica apprendimento
It is given as a written exam. This is intended to verify: 1) the acquired knowledges as for concepts, models and tools which have been the object of the course; 2) the following skills have been developed by the student: ability to apply the knowledges obtained, ability to derive conclusions, communication skills using an adequate language, understanding and learning ability.
