Course program
The course will be organized on three modules:
1. The first will present the themes of the pedagogy of peace and education for peace. Using the contributions of texts, articles and essays, some in English, it will be considered how education for peace arises from a perspective of mutual respect, appreciation of diversity. cooperation collaboration and creativity. In opposition to the idea that peace is a consequence or closure of war, space will be given to how its nature does not depend on it.
2. The second will deal with the contribution of meditation as an instrument of inner knowledge, the search for balance, willingness to listen and the search for authentic relationships. The theme of kindness will then be introduced, which does not always mean saying yes, but essentially treating oneself well to treat others well, taking care of oneself to take care of others.
3. The third will consider the issue of conflicts and non-violent communication, the appropriate and responsible use of language, understanding and conflict management. Through the contributions of Rosenberg, Novara, Consorti both theoretical and operational models will be considered for observing, understanding and improving relationships, the use of words and their generating and destructive potential. In the light of these reflections, the elements that characterize the conflicts will be analyzed, the different types in particular in the educational field.
