After introducing the long run changes in Agriculture the main issues about the relatioship between agriculture and th environment an dthe concept of sustainable development are dealt with. then both market and government failures (i.e. PAC) related to agri-environmental issues are investigated. Finally the main agrienvironmental policy instruments are studied focussing on market instruments and collective action for the production of public goods and ecosystemic services

Teaching Methods
Teaching methods are standard taugth classes and small group activities in the class related to discussion of texts or other media and solution of specific problems. We plans also to visit Tuscan localities where agrobiodiversity is preserved and valorized .

Coursework ( only for attending students) 40% of module: group powerpoint presentatation on agrobiodiversity management case.
Exam (written: 60% of module for attending 100% for non attending): 3 mini essay on agroenvironmenta policy themes to be written in 2 hours
