The course focuses on unfair competition, distinctive signs, patents and industrial design, with regard to the sources of national and EU law as well as to international conventions.
It is aimed at providing students with an in-depth knowledge of the main institutes of industrial property law and with an understanding of the differences in the nature and functions thereof.
It also includes the study of ‘practical cases’ and of national and EU jurisprudence regarding the above topics.

Learning Objectives
The purpose of the course is to provide the students with a knowledge of the main institutes and protection tools of industrial property law.
Teaching Methods
The course includes 72 hours of frontal teaching lessons.
Each lesson introduces the several topics of the program and then focuses on the study and discussion of ‘practical cases’ and national and EU jurisprudence related to the matter at stake.
Type of Assessment
The assessment consists of an oral exam, including at least two questions on the course program.
