The course provides basic knowledges of economic geography theories and applications. The course explores the processes that driving the spatial patterns of economic activity at global, national, regional, and local scales. Topic areas are: leading theories and spatial models; natural resources and environmental pressures; spatial distribution of socio-economic activities; population and migrations flows; the diffusion of the urban growth and sustainable cities.

Learning Objectives
The course aims to provide to the students a basic approach in broad domains of economic geography.
It is expected that students will be able to know the significance of geoeconomic and spatial analysis: recognize the territorial processes at the global-national-regional-local scales; identify how society and economic actors organize themselves in the space (production, circulation, consumption); global -local environmental changes and principles and criteria of sustainable development.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledges of Economic Geography.
Teaching Methods
Lessons and some thematic seminaries.
