Course Content
The course will explore the most important theoretical and methodological devices of empirical research in education. Some type of applied research methods such as observation, interview and questionnaires will be sttudied in order to understand the peculiarities of educational research and training than other types of social research. The themes will be investigated through the use of practical discussion, debate, interviews / focus groups.

Further information
During the Course, there will be held two Seminars in English Language about "Research in Adult Education" and "Employability and Young Social Graduates".
Type of Assessment
The examination will be oral and written.
For the exam, the student will need to prepare a paper, 15 pages long, regarding a research topic to be discussed with the teacher. The paper will be delivered by e-mail to the teacher, five days before the examination. For the exam the student will also need to prepare a power point presentation of the research's contents.
Course program
The course will explore the most important theoretical and methodological devices of empirical research in pedagogy and it has specifically aimed to build a good practice of empirical research. It will be detailed theoretical lines, including the evidence based research and phenomenological inquiry. It will be deepened some of the methods applied research such as observation, interview and comparison with the narrative in order to understand the peculiarities of educational research and training than other types of social research. The themes will be investigated through the use of practical discussion, debate, interviews / work in group. The theoretical investigations will be accompanied by the analysis of empirical practices carried out through international and interdisciplinary research.
