The course aims to show psychological characteristics of aging and strategies of active aging. Subsequently the course aims to offer tools for understanding infant mental world. Starting from these two periods of the life cycle reflexions will be developed in order to understand how psychological phenomena vary during the lifespan.

Learning Objectives
Knowledge and understanding.
The course aims to provide fundamental knowledge about an issue which was recently deepened: psychology of aging and strategies which look to favour a long life. It also aims to offer knowing about the more recent trends of developmental psychology who stress the wide abilities of infant's mind.
Applying knowledge and understanding.
The course will provide students of skills aimed at interpreting psychological issues of everyday life.
Making judgement
It will be favoured, presenting different topics, the issues which are the most debated in developmental psychological research as to develop by the students a critical look, which can in the future enhance a periodical revision of the acquired contents of developmental psychology
Communication skills
The course will offer to the students the knowledge needed in order to learn a correct vocabulary used in developmental psychology and an efficient way to communicate and discuss the studied concepts.
Lifelong learning skills
The ability to revise one's knowing and learning will be encouraged, also pertaining one' s knowing and learning of dvelopmental psychology acquired in the past, in order to favour further training interests.
Prerequisites
First level knowing about developmental psychology.
Teaching Methods
Knowledge and understanding.
Oral lessons: some of them will be held by experts. At the beginning of each lesson the teacher will ask some questions, pertaining the former lesson to which the students will be requested to answer, in a voluntary and collective way
Applying knowledge and understanding.
Short individual anonymous homework pertaining psychological phenomena observed by the students will be requested,: it will be voluntary and not evaluated with a grade by the teacher but collectively discussed in classroom,
Making judgement
Class discussione about news, on line disposable, to be interpreted in developmental psychological terms.
Communication skills
The use a correct vocabulary, specific for different subjects will be stressed during the lessons
Lifelong learning skills
The historical and cultural framework of developmental psycholgy's research will be stressed.
