Course program
The aim of the course is to learn about different theoretical approaches and
methodologies on the theory of conflicts and on the modalities with which these
they can be treated, managed and resolved. For the importance assumed in
educational and training context the position taken by the educator or by
any person who proposes to help identify paths
resolute in conflict management and peace education, choice
theoretical models and methodologies are responsible for the result
that will be achieved. For this reason the course is first and foremost the
question of nature extensively consolidated by the literature
on the subject, about the non-avoidance of conflicts. After that
exploration will be considered the different and possible ways
methodologies that the educator / trice- mediator / trice can use
to identify management and resolution strategies.
The course will also consider the contribution given by the psychopedagogical approach
of Feuerstein to the concept of mediation. The knowledge of
how mediation is responsible for the quality of learning,
turns out to be a creative contribution to make an integration with
pedagogical, psycho-sociological models related to conflicts.
Because of the wide possibility of contexts in which conflicts can emerge in the
different levels and intensity, during the course will be proposed
thematic analyzes to be carried out in small groups. Themes
they will be introduced during the course and will concern: interreligious dialogue
and education in knowledge of the Holocaust and other genocides. One of the
three days of weekly classes, on Wednesdays, will be dedicated to these
activities.
The group work will be indicated at the end of each thematic module
of the course. The contributions and the works produced by the students will enrich the
site on self-managed peace education.
These insights will be self-assessed by the students themselves,
through anonymity methods, and will be the object of
monitoring of learning and personal development on
course contents. Monitoring of this process will constitute one
evaluation tool for learning. For the purpose of making more
transparent and participant, the course will make use of the different options of the
moodle page.
